Classes
We customize our programs based on the child or classroom's preferences and needs.
Our recipes vary depending on seasonality (think tasty tomato gazpacho in the summer and warm tortellini in brodo in the winter)
WELLNESS (age 3-5)
These series of classes are bursting with fun and imagination! Your child may be your sous chef in the kitchen, or perhaps this is their first experience cooking. All learning levels are welcome. We stress loving food, loving our bodies and respecting them both. Tailored towards younger ones who may need to release a little more restless energy from their day, we begin our lessons on the yoga mat. Our adventurous story time and imaginative play will help to sharpen your child’s listening skills while we engage in books, music and yoga based movements. Children discover wholesome and clean small meals and are encouraged to taste everything. During each class we explore a seasonal, cultural and nutritional element of the dish that we prepare. We use mindfulness practices incorporating books, artwork and creative play while always practicing respect for the kitchen and ourselves.
WELLNESS (age 5-7)
These series of classes often begin with yoga, incorporating cooperative games, imaginative storytelling, music and art while engaging the natural energy and enthusiasm of your child. Classes explore yoga poses (asanas), breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self expression, body image, communication skills, the power of positive thinking and environmental awareness. This sets the groundwork for our delicious and nutritious hands on meal creations, highlighting the seasonal, cultural and nutrient focus of the day. We develop basic cooking fundamentals, techniques and knife skills, as well as a respect for the kitchen and it’s tools. Children discover and taste healthy and delicious meals while mastering mindfulness exercises that they can do themselves at home or at school.
WELLNESS (age 8 and up)
These series of classes encourage a deeper sense of self exploration, interpersonal skills and body awareness. Depending on your child's needs and preferences, we will either dedicate a majority of our time to movement or food. Classes integrate traditional kundalini breathing techniques, vinyasa flowing sequences, balancing (asanas) poses and inversions (headstands!) We will also do work in groups through yoga games and writing exercises, encouraging positive peer interactions, teamwork and self reflection. In the kitchen we focus on nutritious hands on meal creations, highlighting the seasonal, cultural and nutrient focus of the day. We refine our cooking techniques and knife skills while discovering nutritious meals and mastering mindfulness tools to apply to any stressful situation.
